Recent post-primary education graduate, David Byrne from Waterford, has been awarded for being top of his graduating class at the Hibernia College conferring ceremony which was held at Dublin’s Convention Centre.

David is currently a teacher at Tyndall College Carlow and in addition to receiving his Masters qualification, David was honoured with the overall Student of the Year Award. This award is presented by Hibernia College to the student in each group with the highest grade. David also received the Research Award for achieving the highest overall grade in his Research module.

Over 1,190 other students graduated from Primary and Post-Primary teaching, Inclusive and Special Education and Data Analytics at the recent ceremony. This year's ceremony saw the largest ever number of teachers graduate in Ireland.

Congratulating graduates, Dr Mary Kelly, Academic Dean at Hibernia College, said all teachers in attendance “hold the key to transformative change in the world by shaping the minds and futures of the next generation, at a time when our country is so short of teachers”.
