At a recent Dáil Éireann Debate held on Wednesday 17th January, the Minister for Education Norma Foley detailed the number of schools that applied for the STEM grant and the number of schools that were approved for the STEM grant in Carlow.

Minister Foley stated that the number of applications received by the closing date of 5pm on the 30th of November 2023 was 2,727 nationally and those applications that were received after the deadline totalled 126 nationally.

Thirty-three primary schools and four post-primary schools in Carlow applied for the grant.

While just six primary schools and two post-primary schools in Carlow were awarded the STEM grant.
