LOCATED: Gardaí provide update following concern of missing Carlow resident

James McCarthy - 49 years old

Carlow Gardaí have released an update following a missing persons appeal that was issued on Monday the 7th of the April 2025.

It is a good news update as Gardaí have located Carlow resident, James McCarthy, 49 years old.

James had been missing from his Carlow home since the 6th of April 2025.

The original press release sent by the Gardaí:

James was last seen in Kilkenny city at approximately midday on Sunday afternoon.

James is described as being approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build, short brown hair and blue eyes. He has a number of tattoos on his forearms.

When last seen, James was wearing a green fleece, green pants, black body-warmer and brown shoes.

Gardaí and James's family are concerned for his well-being.
