The Carlow/Kilkenny dog shelter has shared good news recently about a stray rescue dog who has finally gone to his new home after waiting years.

Titan the German Shephard was brought in as a stray to the dog rescue in 2023 and has now been officially adopted after two years.

In a Facebook post, the dog rescue said: "We have the best news. Our followers will know Titans story, he was brought into us as a stray in June 2023, he was taken out by a rescue but sadly spent the next year in kennels".

The post continued: "This is when we decided to bring him back to the shelter hoping we could find him a new home and we did but sadly after just a few short months and through no fault of his own he was returned".

"We were heart broken as was he but we weren’t prepared to give up we owed him that much. In March Jessica contacted us, she wasn’t in a position to adopt him but could take him on weekends, he had such great adventures with her and loved the break from kennels, we can’t thank her enough for all she did for Titan, thank you Jessica."

"Six weeks ago we were contacted by a lovely couple who had German Shepherds in the past and were missing the company of a dog, Titan went on his holidays to David and Veronica and he hasn’t come back, he is now officially adopted and living the life he so deserves with a wonderful loving family who love him just as much as we do".
"Thank you both so much for giving Titan a chance and for choosing to adopt a shelter dog, two years is a long time for any dog to wait to find that perfect home but for Titan the wait has been worth it.
"Have a great life Titan we couldn’t be happier for you and hope you come to visit us really soon. You too could change the life of a shelter dog, please consider adoption".
