March in solidarity with Palestinians to take place in Carlow today

A march will take place in Carlow today in solidarity with Palestinians.

Organised by the local branch of the Ireland Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) along with concerned citizens across the county will begin at 1pm at the Liberty Tree on Potato Market.

Chairperson of the IPSC in Carlow, Ned Byrne, has said the march aims to raise awareness of the "ongoing genocide in Gaza".

"We are marching in solidarity with the Palestinian people to raise awareness of the on-going genocide.

"We are calling on local TDs and the government to take action and enact the Occupied Territories Bill, with goods and services," said Mr Byrne.

Anyone is welcome to attend and public participation is strongly encouraged.

Mr Byrne added,

"We encourage everyone who is horrified by the brutal inhumanity that is centre stage in Gaza to add their voices...to send a powerful message to Zionist Israel and our elected representatives."
