Locations of six CCTV cameras in Carlow revealed to stop litter and dumping incidents

Following repeated incidents of littering and illegal dumping at the following locations, Carlow County Council has implemented a CCTV scheme which aims to deter, prevent, detect and prosecute cases of littering and illegal dumping across Carlow

Locations of six CCTV cameras in Carlow revealed to stop litter and dumping incidents
CCTV cameras have been set up across Carlow to prevent litter and dumping in Carlow.
Carlow County Council have announced this implementation and said: "following repeated incidents of littering and illegal dumping at the following locations, Carlow County Council has implemented a CCTV scheme which aims to deter, prevent, detect and prosecute cases of littering and illegal dumping across the County".
The locations of the new CCTV cameras are as follows:
Location 1 - Tullow Recycling Centre
Location 2 - Mount Leinster & The Blackstairs Mountains
Location 3 – The Laurels, (area adjacent to the River Burrin) Tullow Road, Carlow
Location 4 – Hacketstown Bottle Banks
Location 5 – St Mary’s Cemetery
Location 6 – Barrow Track Car Park
"The CCTV cameras are for the sole and primary purpose of preventing litter and illegal dumping and enforcement of the Litter Pollution Act 1997, as amended, and the Waste Management Act 1996, as amended.
"This initiative adheres to the Codes of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection and Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences," Carlow County Council said.
