Heartbreak in Carlow after a husband and father of three died unexpectedly recently, surrounded by loved ones.
Martin (Sam) Savage was from Bishop Street, Tullow in Carlow and died on 21 November, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Liz, adored father of Rachel, Nikki and Leanne (& their partners, Conway and Craig). Cherished brother of Ann (Hayden) and Maureen (Orbinski). Pre-deceased by his parents, Jim and Rita.
Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Aoife, Róisín, Finóla, Sinéad, James, Clíodhna, Niamh, Conor, Kieran, David, Toni, Ben, Thomas and Nicholas, his brothers-in-law James, Edmond, Michael R and Michael H, his sisters-in-law Moll and Katherine, Aunt Liz (Mullen), grand-niece Daisy, extended family, kind neighbours, many dear friends and beloved pets Bear and Allie.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and loved Martin, with one mourner writing,
"So sorry to hear of the death of Martin. A gentleman always had a kind word. We met quite often in Waterford when he worked the area. Gone too soon. Condolences to Liz, daughters, Maureen and extended family at this sad time".

Another message said, "Our deepest sympathies to Liz, Rachel, Nikki, Leanne , Ann, Maureen and all the extended family on the very sad passing of Martin. He was such a gentleman and a good friend always, who will be missed by everyone that knew him , rest in peace Sam".
"We are so saddened to hear of Martins sudden death He had been part of Tullow for so many years . Always kind and genuine. To Liz and the girls Maureen and Ann we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers May Martin rest in peace," another person said.
