RIP: 'Lovely lady' Carlow woman sadly passed away as messages of condolences pour in

Tributes have poured in for a woman from Carlow who passed away recently, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Elizabeth (Anna) Doyle (née Dowling) of 72 Pearse Road and formerly of 55 St Fiacc’s Terrace, Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 18th, 2025, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack, loving mother of Eddie, Robert, Liz and Clare, adored grandmother of Ross, Tara, Ivan, Howard, Heidi, Jack, Becky, Nathan, Matthew and Grace, treasured great-grandmother of Fintan and cherished sister of Martha and the late Henry, Michael, Mary, Philly and Angela.

She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sons-in-law Kevin and Roderick, daughters-in-law Margaret and Shannon, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, especially her niece Paula, relatives, and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Anna, with one mourner writing,

"So sorry to hear of the passing of Anna, so many memories growing up on Pearse Road, we had so many laughs and chats. May Anna rest in peace, back with her beloved Jack. Rip".

Another message said, "I'm so sorry to hear this very sad news Condolence to Clare , Elizabeth and extended Family and Friends. Your Mam was a lovely Lady I always enjoyed our chats. May she rest in peace in the arms of the Angels. Back with your Daddy. Thinking of you all at this very sad time".

"Deepest sympathy to the Doyle and Dowling families at this sad time Anna would always brighten up the day with her good humour, rest in peace Anna," another person said.
