Huge frustration in Carlow after dangerous traffic pile up on busy road during school drop off left many parents late for work.
A local person in Carlow expressed huge anger on Facebook to a Carlow community page, asking "surely there is a better system?".
The anonymous person said: "This morning as all the schools returned after the midterm break, there are no words to describe the absolute traffic chaos on the Kilkenny Road from before Tyndall College to 200metres past SETU.
"Leaving three cars off at a time, yet immediately stopping all traffic for pedestrians. Still letting buses stop outside SETU and leave their passengers off while at the same time stopping the flow of traffic on both sides of the road.
"At least re-direct the bus routes surely?? Tailbacks of 15-30minutes for a journey that should take two minutes. It is so disruptive to the people of Carlow.
"Hundreds were late for work this morning as a result. Parents arriving late at the creche on the Kilkenny road to find that the creche workers themselves were struggling to make it in on time.
"The driveway through coffee place doing barely any business as nobody wants to risk losing their place in the bottleneck traffic jam. There was even a case of pure road rage when a driver just pulled out, overtook multiple cars & kept driving. Surely there is a better system?".
The post has received many comments from people in Carlow who were involved in the traffic jam that morning.

One person said: "Took me from 8.30am till 20 past nine to get up to traffic lights. People were blowing horns and just letting up to four at a push go from Kilkenny side and 20 from town".
"It’s crazy. I’m sick of it. Some commuters from Leighlinbridge direction are now going to the Castledermot exit from the M7 and going into Carlow from the Dublin direction. This adds about 12 miles onto the journey!," another person said.
"I'm sitting in it right now. The road isn't busy at all and I'm 25 mins sitting here no more than three cars moving at a time and I only stopped after the lights at Munnelly's and moved as far as the college 200 metres. An absolute disgrace. I cannot imagine how bad it is at peak times!!," another person said.
