ALDI Ireland is launching the search for Ireland’s Favourite Child- and it could be someone in Carlow!
Baz & Nancy Ashmawy started the search by hitting the streets of Dublin City, bringing excitement and joy as part of the celebrations.
Passersby were invited to call their mam on the spot and tell her just “how much they mean to them.”
The lucky winner will have the chance to scoop €10,000 in ALDI gift cards this Mother’s Day - €5,000 for you and €5,000 for your mam. Are you Ireland’s favourite child? Nominate yourself or a sibling now and prove once and for all who the golden child really is!
Baz Ashmawy commented on the launch of the competition saying: “I’ve always known I’m the favourite. Easy when you're an only child but now it’s time to prove it… one cup of tea at a time! This Mother’s Day, I’m on a mission to show the whole of Ireland how it’s done.”

Nancy Ashmawy, Baz’s mam responded: "Of course Baz is my favourite - he's always looking out for me! But now it's Ireland's turn to show their mammies some love. I can't wait to see who really deserves the title of Ireland's Favourite Child this Mother's Day - and trust me, Baz isn't giving it up without a fight!"

☐ You show up on time for Sunday dinner – and eat everything put in front of you!
☐ You make her a cup of tea – the way she likes it!
☐ You give her a ring, just for a chat
☐ You always bring her home something small
☐ You help put away the ALDI shopping
☐ You peel the potatoes without complaint
☐ You’ll do a few jobs around the house without being asked
☐ You let her have the last biscuit
