Young Carlow farmer sleeps overnight in tractor amid fuel protests nationwide

A video has been shared on social media of a young farmer from Carlow who is among hundreds of people protesting against the cost of fuel.

The country has seen nationwide protests over the last two days with motorways and streets blocked off following the rising price of petrol, diesel and oil.

Among protestors, 22-year-old Padraig from Carlow drove his tractor up to Dublin and parked outside the GPO on O' Connell Street.

In the video, shared by a man named James, James explains that Padraig has recently taken over his family business.

"This is what you call dedication," James said in the video. "This is what you call real workers".

"Get in here and help these men and woman please...we need numbers," James said.
