'A huge moment' for Carlow Senior Ladies football amid €20K GoFundMe appeal

The Carlow Senior Ladies Football Team have just been crowned Lidl NFL Division 4 League Champions.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and relentless hard work shown by every player, member of the management team and county board throughout the season.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the team raise €20,000 to travel to London to compete in the championship round robin series in June.

"This is a huge moment for our team, a chance to build on our league success, represent Carlow with pride on a bigger stage, and continue our journey together," the GoFundMe says.

"However, making this trip comes at a significant cost. The total expense for travel, accommodation, meals, and logistics is expected to exceed €20,000. Like many teams and counties, we rely heavily on the support of our community to help us take opportunities like this.

"These players consistently go above and beyond, balancing work, studies, and personal commitments while training multiple nights a week, travelling long distances, and giving everything for the jersey. They do it for the love of the game and for their county, and now we are asking for your support to help us continue this journey".

"Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards helping us get to London and compete at our best.
"As a token of our appreciation, we would be absolutely delighted to bring our Lidl NFL Division 4 trophy along to visit local clubs, schools, and businesses. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate this success together and inspire the next generation of players".
The GoFundMe has raised €1,183 since it was set up two days ago.
