Carlow sprinter Marcus Lawler has finished 5th in his Men's 200m Heat at the European Championships in Berlin with a time of 20.80.

Speaking after the race, Marcus said: "I had a target of making the final and that wasn’t good enough."

Marcus spoke to RTÉ news immediately after the race and expressed his disappointment given he was down as one of the best athletes in the race on paper.

The Carlow man has still had a stellar season.
