Carlow Gardaí encourage bike security after sixteen reports of thefts last month

Always lock your bike when leaving it unattended in public places

The Gardaí in Carlow and Kilkenny received sixteen reports of thefts of bicycles during the month of July this year.

The bikes were taken from public places and also from people’s homes. Gardaí have revealed fifteen of the bicycles were left unlocked or unsecured providing the opportunity for the thief.

Carlow Gardaí said: "Always lock your bike when leaving it unattended in public places, even for a short time. When at home make sure that your bike is secured indoors or locked to a permanent structure."
