A total of 57 Newfoundlanders will come to Carlow over the coming days and stay with locals for the Ireland Newfoundland Festival of 2018.

There’s a range of events planned for the duration of their stay – including concerts, tours of the area and a civic reception in Carlow with the Canadian Ambassador attending the ceremony.

The 13th annual festival will kick off with a gala traditional music concert, with acclaimed musicians from Ireland’s South-East, in the Community Hall in Myshall, following the official opening of the festival.

The gig will kick-off at 8pm on Friday, August 17.

Visitors will also attend Duckett's Grove and many other well-known sites in Carlow during their three-day stop over in the Dolmen county.
