Huge contingent from Carlow make up Irish International Women’s Dragon Boat Team

Ireland’s International Women’s Dragon Boat Team have landed for the European Nations Championships with 14 members of the Carlow Dragon Boat Club making up a huge part of the group. 

The event takes place in Brandenburg Germany from Thursday, August 23 to Sunday, August 26. 

The 22 strong team is made up of: Orla Macfarland, Susan Rowe, Lorraine Leonard, Grace James, Valerie McDonagh, Veronica Gordon, Fiona McKeon, Rosemary Phelan, Marian O'Dea, Dympna Watson, Elaine Rowe, Evelyn Dolan-Cronly.

Ifty Finn, Ciara O'Donnell, Margaret Kehoe, Jane Tynan, Valerie Robinson, Frances Lee, Fiona Burke, Mary Foley, Julie Doyle, Margaret Doyle.

Coach: Mick Doyle (Carlow)

The Carlow Dragon Boat Club is open to men and women of all ages who want to get involved in a fantastic team sport.
