Ballon in Carlow
Ballon in Carlow welcomed judges on Wednesday for the Bank of Ireland National Enterprising Town Awards and the local community groups delivered a "fantastic afternoon".
The locality gave a huge welcome to the judges and John Smyth "presented passionately about how their community is thriving", according to Deirdre Shine, County Kilkenny Manager, Bank of Ireland.
On Thursday it's the turn of Cloneygall in Carlow.
The Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards is designed to recognise and reward towns where businesses and the community come together to showcase the spirit of enterprise in their local area.
The total prize fund is €157,000. The overall winner will receive a cash prize totalling €33,000.
