Tributes paid to 'talented camogie player' Ann Marie Murphy who has passed away

Carlow Camogie has issued a statement on the passing of Ann Marie Murphy (née Ralph) who passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family at NUIG Hospital Galway.

Ann Marie, 31, is survived by her husband Andy, father Sean, mother Mary, brother Michael, sister Theresa, mother-in-law Julia, sister-in-law Karen and a wide circle of family and friends.

In a statement, Carlow Camogie said they wish to extend its deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Ann Marie, Ballymurphy, Borris on her sad passing.

They added: "Ann Marie was a very talented camogie player for both club and county.

"We particularly remember her husband, parents, brother and sister at this sad time.

"We also remember her many friends and playing colleagues from her club Mount Leinster Rangers and her county team mates who are also very saddened by her passing today. May they all find strength in the days ahead.

"May she rest in peace."

Ann Marie will repose at her home in Kyle, Ballymurphy, Co. Carlow on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th September.

Funeral to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Ballymurphy on Saturday for Requiem Mass at 11.30 followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
