A young Carlow man - who is battling cancer - has wished for a tractor so he can raise money to buy toys for other kids in hospital.

Brandon Bolger needs €5,000 to make his kind-hearted dream come true.

The 10-year-old has spent time at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin after being diagnosed with cancer last March.

A GoFundMe Page set up by friend Emma Donoghue to help reach the target - which has raised over €3,000 so far - says, "I'm putting an appeal out to everyone for Brandon's tractor wish.

"He is a strong, brave and very inspirational young man and he has come up with an idea of getting a tractor, painting it yellow and going to shows to raise money for other kids."

The young man's recent scans have showed up that there are no more tumours but he still has to get chemo.
