Carlow homeowner found a man at front of house trying to break in with a shovel

The culprit fled the scene on foot with another man who was on the public road

Carlow Gardaí are appealing for information as part of an investigation into an incident on the Green Road in Carlow. 

A homeowner was in his back garden when he heard a noise around the front of his house and he went to investigate. 

He found one man attempting to prise open a window with a shovel. The homeowner shouted at the culprit and the man fled on foot and was joined on the public road by another male who was likely keeping a look out during the attempted burglary.

The incident happened on October 11 at 4.45pm and no entry was gained to the property. 

Carlow Gardaí are investigating and anyone in the area at the time or with information is asked to contact them on 059 913 6620 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
