For those worried about the remnants of Hurricane Oscar, forecaster Alan O'Reilly has said that the models show its center staying out Northwest of Ireland but "still a wet and windy Saturday is likely with much milder weather too".
However, he added that "other systems may arrive next weekend that could bring stormy weather".
There was a low of -2.8c at a weather station in Carlow on Monday night as the cold snap continued, according to www.carlowweather.com.
The latest information shows a chance of some showers on Halloween evening for trick or treat time on Wednesday evening.
