REVEALED: Burglaries in Carlow down 66% over the last six years, new figures

Just over 130 burglaries investigated for the first nine months of this year

Burglaries in Carlow are down 66% over the last six years, new figures from Superintendent Aidan Brennan of the Carlow District has revealed. 

Crime figures for the county from January to September of this year revealed that there were 133 burglaries investigated by Gardaí and this compared with 395 for the same period in 2013 - a reduction of 66%. 

Meanwhile there were 498 burglaries for the whole of 2013 and this compares with just 221 for all of last year - another reduction - this time a drop of 55%.
