Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a firework was thrown through the letter box of house in Carlow at 2.50am on Halloween night.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on November 1 at Cluain An Mhuilinn on the Burren Road. 

The occupants of the house were awoken by a loud noise and discovered that a firework had been thrown through their letter box causing minor damage to the hallway. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information can call Carlow Gardaí on 059 913 6620 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111. 

Meanwhile, Gardaí are also investigating a car that was burnt out at St Brigid's Crescent in Bagenalstown at 2.15am on Halloween night as well. 

Bagenalstown Fire Brigade alerted Gardaí to the fire and the car has been removed for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí on patrol also seized a quantity of fireworks on Halloween night from one male and he was questioned in relation to the same. 

Carlow Gardaí attended a bonfire in Mountain View, Pollerton after Carlow Fire Brigade called for their assistance to deal with a large crowd in the area. 

They also assisted the fire brigade with a bonfire at Dolmen Heights and a Public Order offence arose out of that incident.
