Carlow Gardaí catch man who robbed shop with pillow case over his head and poker in hand

CCTV footage was examined and the suspect was subsequently identified

Gardaí in Tullow have caught a man who robbed a shop with a pillow case over his head and a poker in his hand. 

The incident occurred at Abbey Stores on Abbey Street in Tullow on Saturday, November 3 at 6.30pm. 

A man wearing a pillow case over his head - with parts of the pillow case cut out for his eyes - came into to the store wearing a dark jacket with the hood pulled up and a poker in his hand. 

The male threatened staff and reached over the counter and took lotto scratchcards. 

CCTV footage was examined and the suspect was subsequently identified and arrested. The man has been charged with robbery and is due to appear before Carlow District Court.
