A civic reception was held in Carlow's Town Hall on Monday night to honour the Oscar Traynor Trophy winners.

The Carlow Oscar Traynor side is a selected team of players from the Carlow District League that competes in the inter-league Oscar Traynor Trophy in the Republic of Ireland.

The Carlow side beat Kilkenny's team 2-1 earlier in the year to claim the trophy.

Cllr Fintan Phelan said: "Great to honour Carlow’s Oscar Traynor winning soccer team at a civic reception in the Town Hall. Well done lads!"
