A picture of the large steel girders
Carlow Roads Policing Unit performed a checkpoint on Wednesday and stopped a vehicle with a number of large steel girders on a trailer which were not properly secured.
The girders were partly tied down with small unsuitable straps and not in the correct manner, the Gardaí said.
They added: "A complete hazard to other road users. Ensure that all trailers with loads are properly secured. Summons to court to follow."
