Construction company - Nesselside Builders Ltd - has had an application to amend planning permission for a residential development at a site of over three hectares at Chapelstown on the Tullow Road granted.
The initial planning application was granted on August 13 of 2015.
The amendment - which has been given conditional approval by Carlow County Council - will result in an increase from 85 two-storey houses making up 54 three bed semi-detached units and 31 four bed semi-detached/detached units.
The new planning permission will see the construction of 93 two storey houses making up 16 two bed terraced/semi-detached units, 73 three bed semi-detached/terraced units and four more four bedroom units - an increase of 8 units.
The amended development will be served by internal road layout and site access from Tullow Road, as granted under the previous permission.
The proposed development comprises associated landscaping (public and private open space areas) and boundary treatment works, associated amendments to internal footpaths, permitted site services (foul, surface water drainage and water supply) and all other site development works, site excavation and infrastructural works above and below ground.
A decision was made by the Council on November 27.
