An archaeologist excavating a pit
Carlow treasures from the past, unearthed during construction of Carlow by-pass, are going on display in the town this week.
'Journey in Time, the Archaeology of the Carlow By-pass' will take palce at Carlow County Museum, College Street, Carlow Town, from 10am on Friday, December 14.
The construction of the Carlow By-pass saw many archaeological treasures been excavated during the M9 Carlow By-pass construction.
You will be struck by the similarities between ourselves and the people of the past. Our ancestors were able to feed, clothe and provide shelter for their families, but it was their skill and expertise that helped create the most beautiful handmade tools and crafts.
So why not step back in time and experience how our ancestors lived. The exhibition is in association with the National Museum of Ireland and the National Roads Authority. Free Admission Saturday 10.00am – 4.30pm (last admission half hour before closing) Telephone: 059-9131554
