Permission granted for the construction of an artificial grass all weather pitch

Slaney Rovers AFC have been granted planning permission for the construction of an artificial grass all weather pitch.

The development will also include associated drainage works, pitch fencing, security cameras, pitch lighting, ancillary services and all associated site works at Patricks Well, Rathvilly.

In a post on Facebook, the club said: "Great news, planning permission has been granted for the development of our Astro Facility at Slaney Rovers.

"Fundraising is now our priority in order for to have this fantastic facility up and running in the village for the start of next season.

"A large fundraising proposal has been put to the committee and we are now calling on all committee members, club members, parents and supporters to attend a very important fundraising meeting next Tuesday, December 18 at 9pm in the Harp Bar.

"We need as many people as possible to attend in order to ensure the success of this project.

"A facility like this in our club will mean no more travelling for training and all club teams from U8s to junior men and ladies teams will be able to avail of this fantastic facility.

"Hope to see you all Tuesday at 9pm in The Harp."
