Gardaí are investigating two separate burglaries in Carlow over recent days and have issued an appeal for information.

The first incident occurred on the Tullow Road, Carlow on Friday, December 14 at 6.05am. 

A woman got up out of bed and saw a male in her shed in the back garden and then saw him leaving the yard.

When the homeowners went outside to the shed they found a small quantity of alchohol had been stolen. 

The culprit is described as being of a blocky build and was wearing a wooly hat. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 1505. 

Separately, Gardaí in Bagenalstown are investigating a burglary on a house in Upper Kilree Street, Bagenalstown on Friday, December 14. 

The incident occurred between 8.30am and 7.45pm on that date.

The homeowner returned to find the front window had been forced open and the main bedroom ransacked with a quantity of cash stolen.
