Revealed: Water leakage projects due to get underway or be completed in Carlow this year

In Carlow, there are a number of projects complete or due to get underway in 2019 aspart of Irish Water’s national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Nationally, €500m will be invested over the next four years in tackling the leakage around the country and safeguarding water supplies.
In Carlow, projects for 2019 include:
Tullow and Tinryland – leak repairs completed in July, leading to savings of 600,000 litres per day
Leighlinbridge – leak repairs completed in March, leading to savings of 145,000 litres per day
Bagenalstown – 3km new water mains laid on Royal Oak Road & Pairc Mhuire, with service connections work ongoing
Graiguecullen – 2.5km of new water mains and the replacement of over 4km of old back yard cast iron water mains. This project will be ongoing in 2019.
