A picture from the scene

Emergency services were called to Aldi in Bagenalstown after a man collapsed at the checkouts on Tuesday evening.

Customers in the store administered CPR while staff were on the phone to emergency services who were issuing instructions to those on the scene.

A defibrillator from a local gym was also used on the man as people in the store tried to keep him alive and engaged him in conversation.

Two ambulances arrived at around 5pm and the man was taken away.

His condition is not yet known.
