Traffic calming measures urgently needed at Donegal National Schools

'Litany of complaints'

A proposal to carry out traffic-calming measures at the Ardattin Road, Tullow was accepted by members of Carlow Municipal District at this month's meeting.

Cllr Will Paton proposed traffic measures on the road between Mount Wolseley Hotel and Tullow Community School as he had received a "litany of complaints" over the speed of traffic on the road and it is threatening the pedestrian crossing.

Cllr Brian O'Donoghue seconded the motion while Cllr John Pender also supported the motion saying negotiations with the adjoining landowner had failed.

He asked if anything could be done with the sightlines at the location.

Members agreed to adopt the proposal as a policy to be considered when funding becomes available.
