'Sad day for a lot of people,' tributes paid to Dominic Hunt as funeral details announced

RIP, Dominic Hunt

"Sad day for a lot of people," said Carlow senior football manager, Turlough O'Brien, as he paid tribute to the late Dominic Hunt.

Dominic of 22 Springfield Drive, Carlow passed away peacefully on February 19 surrounded by his loving family, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of Teresa, much loved father of Damian and Audrey, adored grandfather of Daniel, Dylan and Sophie and cherished brother of Mary, Freda, Elizabeth and Tony.

Éire Óg GAA club said: "It is with a heavy heart we announce the death of our beloved friend and supporter Dominic Hunt. On behalf of all in Èire Òg we offer our deepest sympathy to Teresa and his family. May he rest in peace."

While Turlough added: "Sad day for a lot of people today. A gentleman, a great supporter of club and county."

Dominic will repose at his home (Eircode R93 NH56) from 2pm on Thursday with Prayers at 8pm.

Removal on Friday at 10.15am to St Patrick’s Church, Rathoe, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am.

Funeral afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin for Service at 2pm.
