'10+ bags of domestic waste dumped in Ratmore' over the weekend

The Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Cllr Brian O'Donoghue, has hit out at illegal dumping after the latest bout of illegal dumping in the Dolmen County.

He said: "To the vile creature or creatures who continue to fly tip and illegally dump their rubbish in Carlow, please stop.

"The diesel you’re wasting driving to places like Rathmore bridge, Williamstown and various other locations is actually costing you more money than it costs to have it collected legally.

"This evening (Saturday) I’ve reported the latest dumping of 10+ bags of domestic waste in Rathmore to the Gardaí and have sent correspondence to the Council's environment section.

"I hope these idiots are caught. I will do everything I can to help find with any luck prosecute these ignoramuses.

"Please report all illegal dumping to the authorities."

The rubbish was picked up by Council staff who Cllr O'Donoghue said "collected the mess early on Sunday morning".

"The offender has been detected. Hopefully a full prosecution can happen. Thanks again," he added.
