Council plan to close both lanes on part of the M9 motorway in Carlow for roadworks

Dates of the closure outlined below

Carlow County Council plan to temporarily close both lanes on part of the M9 motorway in Carlow for roadworks.

The local authority have issued a "notice of intention" for the temporary closure of a section of the M9 to facilitate essential maintenance works. 

The proposals are as follows: 

1. To close the Soutbound lane between Junction 4 Prumplestown and Junction 5 Tinryland on Sunday, March 24 from 7am to 7pm. 

Diverted traffic will leave at Junction 4 heading south along the R448, then turning left onto the N80 and rejoining the M9 at Junction 5 Tinryland. 

2. To close the Northbound lane between Junction 5 Tinryland and Junction 4 Prumplestown on Sunday, March 24 from 7am to 7pm. 

Diverted traffic to leave at Junction 5 heading north along the N80, then turning right onto the R448 and rejoining the M9 at Junction 4 Prumplestown. 

Diversion routes will be signposted. 

Submissions in relation to this temporary road closure may be made in writing to the Senior Engineer of the Carlow Roads Department, to be received before 5pm on Friday, March 1.
