Gardaí detect drink-driver twelve times over the legal limit with no licence or insurance

Carlow Gardaí are investigating

Carlow's Burglary Response Unit carried out a routine traffic stop in Carlow at 6.30pm on Wednesday and detected a drink-driver who was twelve times over the legal limit. 

The driver failed a roadside breath test and admitted to having no driving licence or insurance so their vehicle was seized.

Gardaí said: "She was arrested and conveyed to Carlow Garda Station where a breath specimen was provided. Result was 112mg of alcohol per 100ml breath. Legal limit for a specified driver is 9mg. Charged to Court."
