Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information after a car was stolen during burglaries in Leighlinbridge recently.

The first burglary occurred on the Carlow Road in Leighlinbridge last Sunday night, March 3 between midnight and 7.30am.

The incident was reported to Gardaí on Sunday morning at 8am.

The victim told Gardaí her house was broken into overnight and the keys to her car were taken during the burglary. The blue Hyundai iX20 with a 131 Carlow registration was taken during the incident.

The next burglary occurred on the same date between 1.30am and 3.30am and also occurred on the Carlow Road in Leighlinbridge.

The injured party heard noise down stairs and a family member went down to check and noticed internal doors were open - which had all been shut by the homeowners before going to bed.

No damage was done to property but a drawer in the sitting room was pulled out and gone through. Entry was gained to the property after the front door was forced.

Gardaí in Bagenalstown are investigating both incidents and anyone with information is asked to contact them on 059 972 1212.
