Carlow County Council's Creative Ireland programme has announced a new and fresh pilot opportunity for young people across Carlow to unleash their inner creative and apply for funding by April 10 of this 2019.

The aim of the programme is to give voice to, include and support young people to decide on and further develop their capacity to engage in the arts and creativity in Carlow.

It is part of the Carlow Creative Ireland programme and Cruinniú na nŌg which is a national day of creativity for children and young people which will take place on Saturday, June 15 coordinated by the Arts Office of Carlow County Council.

Young people aged up to 18 years old from across Carlow can apply who are interested in the arts and any way you can express yourselves creatively.

You can apply as an individual or as a group of young people, but your application must be supported by an adult leader/teacher/youth worker.

It's a chance to secure funding of up to €400 for you as Carlow young people who wish to think big.

There are two grants available with a total fund of €800 so here is your opportunity to decide what creative idea you as a young person would like to see in Carlow.

For example :
Do you want to develop and explore new skills? Maybe showcase your talents or take on a creative project to bring about some change in your group/local area? Bring an amazing artist to work with you or organise a creative event?

Or recreate a cool experiment/ music video you have seen on YouTube?
No idea is a bad idea – all ideas are welcome!

Where? Your project is to happen in Carlow on Saturday, June 15.

When?  Application forms expressing your idea can be downloaded from or from Carlow County Council Arts Office, Athy Road, Carlow by emailing

Closing Date for Applications is April 10 at 12 noon.

Special thanks to Kathryn Wall, Carlow Regional Youth Services.
