Carlow County Council offices on the Athy Road
Carlow County Council has tendered a contract for the spreading of over 4,000 tonnes of chippings on Carlow roads.
The detailed request for tender states the contract is for "supply and spraying of approx 425 tn of bitumen binder, loading and transporting approx 4,200 tn of 'free issue' chippings ranging from 6 to 14 mm from the designated Chip Depots to the works locations mechanically spreading of approx 4,200 tn of 'free issue' chippings ranging from 6 to 14mm rolling the chippings with a rubber wheeled roller, single or double surface dressing method".
It added that the works would be done "all to Carlow County Council's instruction including all associated testing to circa 46km of public roadway of various lengths and widths at various locations around the county of Carlow with 80% polymer modified bitumen".
The above tonnages are estimates subject to availability of finance and Carlow County Council does not guarantee that they will be achieved, no additional charges will be entertained should actual tonnages provided be below those indicated above.
Bidders have until 4pm on April 7 to submit their applications.
