Three Carlow students have won top prizes in a national children's art competition

Three Carlow students have won top prizes in this year's 65th Texaco Children's Art Competition.

In the 14-15 years age category, second prize (€350) went to Natalia Connolly (14), a pupil at Presentation College, Hacketstown Road, for her work entitled 'Through The Alleyway'.

In Category G, second prize (€300) went to Amy Dawson (15) [pictured below], a pupil at Naomh Bríd, Tullow Community School, for her work entitled 'Frida'.

Another winner from Carlow, whom will receive a Special Merit Award, is Emily Collins (10), from St. Lazerian's National School, Leighlinbridge.

Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony next month when all of the 126 top prize-winners will be in attendance.
