Carlow County Museum on College Street
Carlow County Museum's staff have been praised online after a bus full of tourists broke down during a recent visit to the museum.
A group of around 35 people were visiting when their tour bus broke down in lashing rain.
But the museum staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful - directing traffic, arranging refreshments at a nearby hotel and leading the visitors in person to the hotel while they waited for a replacement bus.
In a post on Facebook, Carlow County Museum said: "We wouldn't be in the habit of tooting our own horn, but we were delighted with this lovely TripAdvisor review (below) from Ulsterbus Tours.
"The tour group were visiting the South East from Northern Ireland and of course, the one day their bus broke down was the one day it was absolutely lashing rain!
"They have several tours to the museum scheduled over the summer - hopefully, the next visit will be as memorable for all the right reasons!"
The review said: "We had a very informative tour of the museum as part of a group of approx 35 people on a tour bus - April 15, 2019.
"When we realized that our tour bus had broken down (a relatively new bus) the museum staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful - directing traffic, arranging refreshments at a nearby hotel, etc., leading us in person to the hotel while we waited for a replacement bus, and ensuring our bus driver (who was very stressed out!) also had food sent to him. 100% lovely staff (John, Tomas, and...another man whose name escapes.)
"Very caring. We were so impressed."
Well done to everyone in the County Museum.
