"We were lead around town blindfolded," said Cllr Jim Deane after he experienced the challenges faced by people with disabilities.

Cllr Deane was attending the "Clear Your Footpath Campaign" in Tullow which he said "was truly an experience".

"We were lead around the town blindfolded so as to experience first-hand the challenges that people with visual impairments or those using wheelchairs or buggies have in navigating through our towns.

"I will certainly continue to raise the issue of accessibility as part of my election campaign and will continue to make all constituents with a disability aware of grants currently available through Carlow County Council," he added.
