Have your say...

As part of the call for voters to challenge the candidates in the Local Elections on the issues affecting you, Carlow County Chamber have scheduled hustings in each of the Municipal Districts.

Invitations have been extended to candidates, where they will have an opportunity to make their case for election before an open panel discussion and questions on the issues and challenges.

This will provide an important opportunity for people to hear directly from the candidates and see who can and will make the difference if elected on May 24.

Brian O’Farrell, chief of County Carlow Chamber, said: "It is important that we challenge the candidates on the issues and hear from them in relation to the measures they propose for supporting the local economy, actions to create jobs, attract funding and investment to County Carlow and work to create a more sustainable economy.

"Our elected officials need to challenge and speak up for the communities, businesses and areas they represent, acceptance is not an option!"

The husting events are scheduled to take place as follows:

Muine Bheag Municipal District
Thursday 9th May 7pm
Lord Bagenal Hotel

Tullow Municipal District
Tuesday 14th May 7pm
Tara Arms

Carlow Municipal District
