A nice sum of money

There were celebrations in Carlow on Wednesday evening as one BoyleSports shop customer collected a handsome amount of €10,399 after placing a Lucky 15 bet on the Irish Lotto, costing €15.

The anonymous punter called into their local BoyleSports betting shop and selected numbers 9, 14, 24 and 29 for the Irish Lotto Plus 2 draw that evening.

Six numbers are drawn from a total of 47 in the Irish Lotto, and the punter needed the selected four numbers to be drawn in any order to land the stunning win.

When all four rolled out of the machine, the celebrations started in Carlow as the fortunate punter had defied massive odds as big as 7,500/1 to land the big prize.

The wager allowed the lucky native to return to the shop the next day to collect a jaw-dropping total of €10,399.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: "Huge congratulations to our Co Carlow customer who collected a tidy sum of €10,399 after their four numbers were pulled from Wednesday’s draw.

"It was a fantastic win from a stake of just €15 and we wish our client the best of luck with their winnings."
