"Dublin Street was the nicest street historically," Cllr Fergal Browne has said is the view of locals he is meeting on the campaign trail ahead of the Local Elections this month.

He raised the issue at a recent meeting of Carlow Town Municipal District and he says residents are nostalgic for a bygone era in Carlow Town.

Cllr Browne said: "Dublin Street was the nicest historically, it got the best sunlight," and he called for more investment in Carlow Town but admitted that "we can't turn back the clocks".
