Calls have been made for the installation of a portaloo at the Bagenalstown graveyard mass after a man previously suffered a fall getting over a ditch to go to the toilet.
Cllr Denis Foley brought the issue up at this month's meeting of Bagenalstown Municipal District saying he had been contacted by a lot of people looking for public toilets in the graveyard.
He also asked for a temporary portaloo to be installed during the upcoming cemetery mass after the last time "a man tried to get over a ditch to go to the toilet but there was a drop down and he got a fright".
There was cross-party support for the public toilets and Cllr Andy Gladney said a portaloo for the mass would be a "quick solution".
Cllr Foley agreed and said we "don't want anyone jumping over a ditch". Area engineer, Jerry Crowley, said he would "look into" the matter.
The Bagenalstown graveyard mass takes place on Friday, June 21 at 8pm.
