Council seeking to prosecute for littering in Carlow with over 20 fines issued already

Carlow County Council is seeking to prosecute for littering in Carlow with a total of 21 fines already issued this year, new figures have revealed. 

The local authority have said that it is "imperative that all incidents of dumping are reported and that the Environment Section are resourced to proactively inspect to prevent dumping". 

To date this year, on top of the fines that have been issued, one case has been heard in court and two prosecutions under Section 32 of the Litter Pollution Act have been listed.
