Lotto luck catches in Carlow as incredible coincidence lands €55,000 for one person
Two draws with same numbers trigger windfalls
A punter in Carlow has more than one good reason to be popping the bubbly after landing an impressive weekend windfall…. twice.
The lucky native placed bets in a BoyleSports shops in the county, with the first big win coming via a €6 investment on four numbers in the Friday evening 49s draw.
When 10, 17, 23 and 34 all rolled out, two €3 bets landed including one that smashed odds of 7,200/1. They walked off with a stunning total of €34,614.
But their luck didn’t stop there, because the next morning, two €2 bets on the same four numbers incredibly struck it lucky again, this time in the BoyleLotto draw in the shop. This time they picked up €20,404.
With the most incredible twist of fate across both draws, the same shop forked out combined winnings of €55,018.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: "We couldn’t believe our eyes looking at the results but we have to hand it to our Carlow customer who put faith in their numbers and stuck with them over the two draws.
"It’s a stunning piece of luck for modest stakes and we hope their winnings go down well."
