Carlow County Council is to carry out a survey on the number of Heavy Goods Vehicles going through Bagenalstown after a local councillor made a complaint about the issue.

Cllr Denis Foley raised the matter with Council management recently and he said that there are a number of HGVs regularly "trying to go through Bagenalstown and they shouldn't be going that way".

Director of Services, Dan McInerney, said the local authority could carry out a survey of that traffic "to see where the vehicles are coming from".
